Runnin’ With Reggie

A Double Feature: Okay, here it goes … I found myself stuck between a rock and a hard place (more or less). The thing is, is that I got to watch a Double Feature (popcorn and all), which just so happens I enjoyed both of the movies, very much. By the way these movies where classic’s; watched on Turner Classic Movie (TCM) channel 82 here in Manhattan, NYC.

The first movie was titled: Between Two Worlds (1944) A ship sails on with a cynical newsman (John Garfield), a suicidal couple (Paul Henreid, Eleanor Parker) and others who are dead but don’t know it. John Garfield, Paul Henreid, Eleanor Parker, Sydney Greenstreet, Director: Willis Goldbeck, (sci-fi) cc 2 hr, 2 ½ stars.

The second movie was titled: The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) A drifter (John Garfield) stops at a greek diner and helps the owner’s (Cecil Kellaway) lusty wife (Lana Turner) become a widow. Lana Turner, John Garfield, Cecil Kellaway, Hume Cronyn, Director: Tay Garnett, cc 2 hr, 3 ½ stars.

Again, I have to say that both movies were good, but, it was the after show that really caught my attention…girls will be girls! Trust me a double feature was a small price to pay for what followed next! THAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE NEWS!
