Yanks Stretch It Out Ahead Of Home Opener

After a successful opening season road trip, the New York Yankees are home and gearing up for Opening Day in the Bronx. The team held practice Monday on their home field which is decked out with championship flags and a freshly painted "Major League Baseball Opening Week" logo. The 2009 World Series-winning Yankees will raise their 27th World Series banner and get their championship rings at the home opener ceremony Tuesday. It's been a year since the Bronx Bombers moved across the street to their new stadium. Manager Joe Girardi says the demolition of the old Yankee Stadium could impact the 2010 season. "I think you have to go through a year, and now that we've went through a year we have a pretty good idea of how it will play," Girardi said. "But now, does it change because of the ball park next door is torn down?" The Bombers play their first home game of the season against the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday afternoon.
